Being the organizer and leader of a large social bicycle club here in Fort Lauderdale with over 1750 members, over 100 official tours and growing daily, the safety, health and well-being of our riders is always priority one. The same goes for our mounts as well. It is discussed before every slow roll. And one thing all my members know about me is that I love customization and personalization. And if it serves both safety and customization then roll on I say! My local bike shop Cycling Forza in Coral Springs could tell you how much they make from our patronage. We spend tons on toys and accessories that just make the rides more fun, more enjoyable, more convenient. And not just for technical stuff but for lots of other fun stuff as well, gadgets, toys and accessories are always welcome. I like to gift away some small safety item to our new members at the beginning of each slow roll, most often it will be a safety whistle to wear while riding. Sometimes the gifting goes to another level. It might be a lighting kit, a set of pedals or grips, locking kits, occasionally even a pair of gloves or a helmet. I encourage my members to keep their mounts very well maintained in order to not get left behind (in reality we would never let anyone get left behind). This kit looks just like a mini pannier set. A bag on each side of the top tube and a cell holder with a sensitive covering that is also detachable from the main body. Detachable means a strip of velcro. And my only issue with this set is concerning velcro. While the side bags are kind of small you also must consider where this bag sits. This will be right at the front of the top tube. This will be potentially between your knees. So the smaller size is actually more appropriately proportioned. The zippers are a bit stiff but necessary to keep a water resistant condition. The cell holder does have a small port for any wires you may be using. My cell works perfectly in the case, the covering doing just as advertised only after some minor surgery. I had to cut away about half of one side of the velcro wrap that holds your cell. This is because my phone goes dark after a minute or two and the only way to reactivate the screen is to put a fingertip to the side of the phone. So an access port was cut, and was easily done. Now I have access to my cell screen on the side. The pannier bags securing assembly consists of a few velcro straps. And here is the rub, they do not fit very well. While the bag sits on the top tube, the straps must go around the down tube to hold the bag securely. The front strap barely has velcro contact when installed, the rear has more appropriate amount of contact. The front strap around the handlebar neck not really an issue at all. Overall I am loving the potential that this type of bag contains. My concerns are knee space and a secure fit. I came very close to giving five stars in this instance. Hope the sellers are listening.
